What determines it for you? Ive had heard the bigger the less accurate is this indeed correct?

I'm not sure off hand what size my peep is but its consider a bigger one. When I'm at full draw it fits round my site window so I use that as a guide. The larger ones will help better at low light as more light will come through at lest in my experience. I personal shot one that hooks to a rubber tube.

My accuracy at longer ranges (40+ yards), or lack of, seems to be affected more by my form than sight picture. Specifically, if I don't follow through correctly, my shot "wanders". I keep my hunting range at approx 25 yards and prefer a larger, 1/4", peep for use during lower light conditions, twilight time. The sight picture does not seem to be as critical to the shot at that range but my form still is.

I use 1/4" peeps on all my setups to maximize the light-gathering ability of the peep.

I coordinate that size peep to my pin guards on my Spot Hoggs. SH's come in two different-sized guards; they're available in "large" or "small"... I order in my Hunter Hogg-its in the "large" size, so my concentric cirlces better match up.

Back when I was shooting Hunter class 3D, I'd get a 1/8" peep and married that up with a "small" pin guard on my Hogg-it and extend my sight bar all the way out; that way, I had a finer aiming point, as the concentric circles of my peep and pin guard matched exactly.

I do the exact same thing with my SH's. Unfortunately I have a couple of Axcel Armortechs and they don't have a large guard. It's no big deal but I was certainly more "automatic" with the SH's.

It's not the size of the peep that matters, it's the way you use it ;)

I've been using a 3/16 peep for a bit now, I've found that it works well with the pin guard on my Vipers.

Yes, the smaller the more accurate you can be, but the harder it will be to see in early morning, late evening, when the light is diminished. Just a thought

generaly the small the peep the less space you have to mess up with when lookign throught..but just like everyone else said, if you are a hunter look at larget sizes because with a small peep and the first/last hour of hunting (the best) become easier to hunt during because of the light gathered throught the larger hole

It's a trade-off between light gathering and fine sight picture. For most a 3/16" is a good compromise.

3/16". The 1/4" peep was just a touch too large for peep-sight alignment on my current set-up. The 1/4" peep is considerably brighter, though.

What's most important is that the peep closely brackets the outside of your pin guard (hunting) or scope (target setup). I like to get it very close, and can further contrast the pin guard/scope housing from the peep using an orange self adhesive ring on the pin guard/scope housing on my target setups. The extra contrast you get with this helps just a bit to let you subconsciously see the scope/pin guard, and align it inside the peep without actually looking at it.

Like Greg, I use a 1/4" peep and a Spot Hogg with the large guard to hunt with. It lines up perfectly, and gives me good light gathering ability.

On my target bows, I'll size the peep according to the size of the scope on my sight. I use a CR Apex Target scope for indoors, and a Specialty 1/16" with the #1 lens in it for the peep aperture. On my 3D bow I'm using a CR Apex 3D scope with a 3/32" or a 1/8" specialty aperture in the peep.

Also, peep size can help to clean up fuzziness of the pins at times as well. Sometimes if you have a lens in the pin guard/scope housing, and it gets fuzzy, going with a slightly smaller peep diameter can clean things up.
