I recently bought an '08 Bear Lights Out, with some newer equipment than I'm used to. Considering I'm very much a rookie, I'm still trying to figure the bow out. The peep site is attached to a rubber tube to keep it straight when the arrow is pulled back. I noticed, when I tried to adjust the rubber tube, that the peep site could slide up and down the bow string slightly. Is this normal?? Part of me thinks the peep site should be stationery, and another part is thinking maybe this allows the site to slide into a particular spot when fully pulled back??

The peep should not be able to move at all. Each time it moves, it will affect your sight's 'zero'. In other words, your arrows will not hit where you are aiming. This difference could be big or small depending on how much the peep is moving.

You will need to have your local shop tie the peep securely.

Thanks for the answer. The guy at the shop was saying the rubber stops on the bow string slide towards the peep to keep it tight... unfortunately the only shop that sells arrows/bows on my island is also a gift shop (hawaii) so I'm trying to learn everything I can from people like you! Thanks again.

That would be really helpful if you could email those pics to me. The "shop" is hit or miss as far as assistance.
