I got a new bow a couple weeks ago, it was previously own, but i don't think the guy before me shot it much. I actually have 2 questions, the first one is, should I get one of the peep sights that doesn't have the rubber tube to align the peep? I currently have one of those, and the tube breaks sometimes when I shoot, and right now my peep sight is turned at about a 100 degree angle, and I'm pretty sure that's not good. So I'm just asking the guys that probably have more experience with this then I do, any advice is appreciated!

How old is the bow and any idea how old the strings are as well? Most of the newer strings on bows are of low stretch which generally means you can get away with having a peep tied in place and it usually stays aligned, especially if there is a string loop installed. If the peep is that far out of alignment then I would take the bow in and see what a bow shop thinks about tying in a new one and have it aligned properly.

It is a Mathews Mission Maniac, and i think they were made in about 2010, so yeah its a pretty old bow. I might go to bass pro shop this weekend so I'll take it there and see what they say about it

If it still has the original string you may want to consider buying a replacement. Not knocking BPS but do you have any other archery shops around, perhaps one that deals with Matthews/Mission bows? A place like that would likely have strings in stock if you did decide to have replaced. If not then they would at least be able to re-align a peep and tie it in place. BPS you may have to wait a while to get it back.
