I have been having an issue lately where each day when I go out to shoot I will be hitting low on the target for some reason. I always make sure I am using the exact same anchor point and notice that my peep has slid down and I have to move it back up to where it belongs to be back on target. do ya'll have any tips that I can do to keep my peep from sliding on me?
I'm using a Tru-Glo Glo Brite peep. It is served in to the string but for some reason it keeps sliding.
If I am not mistaken that peep has a rubber tube. If it does check the angle on the tubing and lower it to apply less pressure. If it doesn't have the tubing disregard the above. Set the peep hight and serve around the peep and finish with a spot of lok tight gel. Then serve a another strand in the opposite direction around the peep. And finish on the opposite side, also with the lok tight. Then serve above and below the spilt strands and it should hold.
Thank you for your help. With the lok tight on the string would it make it an issue if I need to change the peep later on down the road?
The lok tight goes on the knot, just off set it a hair so the knot isnt directly on the string, and FYI dental foss isnt the best thing to use for serving....a spool of BCY 62 will do everything you need....
I had waxed Dental floss on both my Hoyt's for years...held up great. I use either an old string or BCY nock & peep tying thread now.
Just left the bow shop. Turns out the guy who tied it on before did the most half-assed job imaginable. Ended up getting a new peep and getting it tied in correctly this time.
Makes a world of difference!!! My brother got a used bow that had a old crappy peep with the rubber hose. I finally talked him into spending the $10 on a new peep without. it's amazing the difference it makes.
