I've been bowhunting since 2008. I'm still shooting the same bow with the same rest, and peep. I've changed my sights a few couple of times and am currently using the IQ 3 pin bow sight. I have started noticing with my last sight and also this sight that when I'm at full draw that my pins seem a little blurry. Would a more open peep help with this?
How old are you and when was your last eye exam? If the peep has been the same for so long, I doubt it is the peep. I don't need bifocals yet, but some day I probably will, both my parents have them. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm 43. I had lasik surgery 14.6 years ago and an exam last year that showed my vision was just fine, 20/20, don't need glasses or bifocals yet (though my eye surgeon did tell me even with the surgery I'll need non-prescription bifocals eventually). check out this website, they make these things called peep verifiers, it's a lens inside your peep that helps with blurry pins. http://www.specialtyarch.com/faq-new/verifiers/ Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Do you aim with one eye open or both eyes? The pins of the sight would be in the intermediate range for vision. Not sure if an Peep insert would do the trick, if not, you can look into special shooting glasses that have a special bifocal for your peep eye, but not for your distance eye if you shoot with both eyes open.
I shoot with one eye open. I've tried a blinder that clips onto your hat brim I found at Lancaster Archery, but a lot of times my string hits brim so I don't wear one or I'll flip it around to the back. I even worn a patch over my closed eye and that helps but feel very self conscious with it. Sent from my E6782 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I've thought about that but not sure with my low poundage and only comfortable shooting out to maybe 40 yards how well it would work. Sent from my E6782 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
You could probably get away with a cheap pair of off the rack reading glasses from walmart or something. Once you find the right power, you can pop the lens out of your non-peep eye.
I don't thank you would have a problem I use the trophy ridge react one very easy to set up and dial in and have had no issues with it.
