Personally, in PA, legal shooting light is over and done with before I have to wonder if I can see though my peep.
I'm a peep guy. I'll be honest. I have never shot a bow without them. Who knows? I may love it. I'm of the attitude if it's not broken, then don't fix it. (KNOCK ON WOOD) I have never been sitting in my stand in low lights, and not been able to get on my target. However, my only beef with a peep is the dang thing twists.
I have never shot without a peep, But lately it seems that my shooting has become way more inconsistent. It makes me wonder if i would be more comfortable shooting without a Peep.
A peep sight is a device with a small hole in it attached in the string that archers look through and center their pin sight housing for consistent accuracy and alignment.
