Sorry if this is a dumb question, im fairly new to bowhunting, trying to learn as quickly as possible. Just got my bow set up by a good shop out here. I was hitting dead on at forty yards at their range. Practicing at twenty yards in my back yard, and things went haywire after a few shots. I started shooting about three or four feet high. After some head scratching, I noticed that the serving above the peep was loose, so I have to assume that its tube was pulling it up the string on the draw. Question is, if my peep moves UP, will my shots be moving UP, off target? No, I didn't move my pins, (yet). - a newbie.
Yes, they would move up. Take the bow back to the shop before you bust any arrows. It's not a good idea to slide the peep back down 'cause you could cut the string. good luck
To each his own, but I'd have them install a regular peep instead of one of the rubber tube ones. That tube can become a constant headache. Also, mark all the settings on your bow. Peep on the string, windage and elevation on rest and sights, etc.
Yes it will, in a sence if your peep is sliding up your bringing your anchor point down so you can see through peep again making you shoot high,,4' wow!!! I agree with soil hunter, IMO tube peeps are a pain, they also dry rot and need to be changed. I have also seem them actually twist and snag on the string before getting drawn all the way back. I would suggest trying a tied in peep!
definitely gonna take it to the shop tomorrow hey all, thanks so much for the information. I am definitely gonna try to cut out of work a little early tomorrow and try to have the shop get something tied in solidly. I really don't mind the tube. Only reason I don't just do it myself is I paid a fair piece for their "tuning" session. While we got the bow set up much better than it was, I figure for as much as I paid, they can tie in that peep solidly for me. - Woody
