My first and current bow is a pearson spoiler that I was given and have learned the sport using this bow with a few kills including my first buck! However it is time to update with something from this decade. I am looking in the lower price range and have shot the Bear Encounter and really like it even over the Legion. My neighbor however is on the Pearson shooting staff for competitive 3D competition. He has his stealth (not sure if it is an orginal or the stealth 2) that he said he would sell me for a price rivaling the encounter that is just 2 years old. I can see the stealth was originally in a higher price range, which to the amatuer means "better." However I need some opinions. I know Bear is a large and heavily advertised company, while pearson has been around forever but does not advertise much. So does anyone have any suggestions for me?
I have nothing but good things to say about Bear. I have a 2011 Attack now, and was using a 2009 Game Over before that and both are accurate and quiet bows. I have never shot a Pearson. In my opinion, I would go with whatever you can get for the best price and spend extra money getting good accessories and arrows. Price being equal, I would go with the new bow...its the only way to ensure that it has never been dry fired or damaged.
Same advice I give with broadheads, arrows, bows, type of camo, boots or even the size of bucks you take: "What you want or like or have success with is what you should get, take or harvest."
