Sounds like you drop more things than the bucks do Peak. Hard to find sheds when you are looking for your own head. LOL
That will teach you to forget the camera. Ever since I got mine last week I haven't gone anywhere without it.
I didn't find any once I got on the phone with my uncle I just kicked back on this bench they had on the hill and enjoyed the sun. My buddy went out up near Burlington and found one huge 8 Point side. My Aunt found a huge 4 point side so it looks like she beat raceway already.
Heading out to Jo Davies County in IL today and coming back Saturday so Hopefully I can find a few around. T
What a great weekend and one that I will never forget. I found a very nice 4 point and then about 4 minutes after I was double checking where he walked he yells DAD...DAD a antler. I run up the hill and sure enough it is the other side which is a 5 point. You talk about a little boy that was so excited and to have one this size as his first shed was great in my mind. Well the next morning we are out and checking a pine grove and he finds another little spike antler with a start of a browtine. He says Dad this one is my favorite because it was harder to find. The seed has been set and I think I have a hunting buddy for life. Well anyways we keep searching and he is finding all these golf balls and all of a sudden a big cry comes out and he lost his antler. Oh chit this is not good so I search and search and nothing at all. He is in tears and says forget it lets just start looking again and I tell him we are not giving up. Glad we didn't I walked back to the same place for a 2nd time where he had picked up a golf ball and wouldn't you know it this time I found it planted in the mud just with the tip sticking out with his foot print on top of it. You want to talk about a smile that came back and a big hug wow. Anyways here are the pics with a fishing one added: Another shed: Gotta love a piece of bass:
Yeah it is pretty cool and I have my work cutout with my son Dylan. We are heading to my mom's next weekend so he can shoot the 30/06 and see how he likes it. He will be doing the youth hunt this coming fall so I have 1 foot in the door with him.
