Set your DVR for PBS - Nature: The Private Life of Deer. I missed it tonight but several re-airings from now until Sunday.
I caught that last night. Great show! They showed some really BIG bucks too, and they looked like they were in a southern state, judging by the surroundings. I just hope they weren't farm deer.
Maybe for part of it, but they were showing Spanish Moss hanging from the trees in some of the footage.
Just checked and I found it on the PBS app on my AppleTV. I put it in my queue. Apparently it originally aired in May.
Watched it last night. Am I the only one that wasn't impressed?? I like the one biologist that placed camera collars on deer and said they "Discovered" that deer are more social (grooming, etc) than ever thought, and that does fight. ...Duh.
I totally agree. It was interesting to some degree but the last 20 or 30 minutes dragged on for me with no significant information. It is good to see this sort of thing in the public eye, however I think they missed a really good opportunity to talk about the problems with overpopulation and how urban archery can help to solve those problems
It was alright I dont care for the whole "urban" deer thing. Everyone here knows im not into shooting those petting zoo bucks (Even though it happens, and its legal). Its just not for me. I did enjoy the biology behind their digestive system though.
I wasn't all that in awe over it either...certainly no groundbreaking info in it but I did enjoy it nonetheless. I managed to get my daily deer fix from it, lol.
some of it was pretty interesting... some of it was kindda blah--- the coyote silhouette and the deer reaction to them in an urban environment was kindda cool ... considering the deer weren't afraid of the dogs and learned there limitations ! lol
