I finished bow hunting on the 24th of last month after shooting my buck. On Saturday a friend who I hunt with asked if he could hunt my stand since it has been seeing a lot of activity lately. I said sure just as he would to me. The stand is on the edge of a woods and overlooks a winter wheat field. I have a camera set up about 20 yards to the left of the stand. This 8 point buck came out shortly after 9 (clock on pic is 1 hour fast) and he arrowed it as soon as it cleared the woods. The picture shows the arrow on the deer's right side at the moment of impact with his butt hunched down and his front feet off the ground right before he jumped and ran. He ran for about 120 yards, being double lunged, doing the half circle of death before tipping over in sight.
Awesome pic! Took me a sec to look and see the arrow, but just an awesome moment of impact shot! Cool stuff and congrats to him on a fine deer!
Congrats to your friend and to you for giving him the opportunity to have a successful hunt. Great job.
