I don't hold this against her. She used a word in the 1960s that was offensive, but widely used. Doesn't make it right, but she has apologized. How can society ever move past the way things were if we keep dragging up the social sins of our past and using them against us today. Its more counter productive than anything.
The same word is used thousands of times a day on the street and on hip hop radio by thugs and gangstas yet its offensive when some old fat white woman uses it, really I'm so hurt when people call me names, some times I cry, and lock myself in my room till I can once again face the nasty ole realities of life on the streets. Really get over it!
Something we can agree on. (Why cant the same opinion be shared about gays?) Sent from my Samsung Galaxy s4
Some money grabbing lawsuit is filed against her company where some sleezball lawyer asks her this question about her use of the word 27 years ago. She responded truthfully when she could have plead the fifth or lied and the smear campaign starts and the public responds this way, it's retarded. The question should have never been asked as it didn't have anything to do with the lawsuit but since it was at a deposition the lawyers can ask away. She was held with a gun to her head by a colored guy during some kind of robbery or incident and later used the n-word describing him. The same sponsors and public that are ripping her a new one have never in the past 30 years used a racist term or racially insensitive term...ever. Just ask them, what a joke.
Not to bring up the Zimmerman trial but I read some funny testimony yesterday that kind of has something to do with racial terms. Apparently the girl who was on the phone with Trayvon was asked how Trayvon described the man he saw and he said the guy was a "creepy *** cracka". Just struck me as funny(not the situation just the description).
He did. He called himself "the Steve Jobs of internet" Kanye West anoints himself successor to Steve Jobs as world waits for Yeezus | Music | guardian.co.uk
she is on GAC all the time. my father in law has a tv out in his grarage and likes to have it on GAC or CMT to hear music and watch it while he is working or taking a break. never fails she always has atleast one show on everytime im out there to help.
So the people who are offended by this, were they her own fans? Because if they weren't, then why would they care what she said half a lifetime ago? So many people in this country are looking for a handout because their feelings got hurt.
Took me a bit to find out what this DOMA crap was being posted all over FB. I dont feel one way or the other and being over here, its pretty easy to not listen to the news. It's been pretty nice. Haven't totally followed this Paula Deen thing, but I hear it had to do with some lawsuit against her by a worker and not something she stated on television? Is that correct?
I dont think she should be punished this much for it. Dont know the total context and it doesn't seem to be rampant throughout the workforce and I believe happened years ago. Well the good thing is, that shes made millions since working for those networks. I do feel for her, some people just want somethign to be offended by or pissed at.
Wow! She's asking for help from Jesse Jackson? Really? And how much of a percentage is he going to ask for?? And the things that Jackson has said in the past is OK? That's why things like this have most of America tuned out.
