    He'll make a difference.

He'll develop there more than anywhere else.

    His ideals fit with ownership.

I'm not surprised by this simply because of Josh McDaniels. I am surprised it is a 2 year deal instead of 1 though - it would seem like they would want to make sure he's going to fit with them.

To say the Patriots are in desperation is ridiculous. So they haven't won a super bowl in awhile. Can't think of a team that's been as good as they have for as long as they have in a long time, records show consistency not superbowl wins. Fact of the matter is once the playoffs start any of those teams could win the superbowl.
Kraft and Belicheck know exactly where they stand for the future. They aren't counting on Tebow as QB... He's getting paid pennies with no guarantee, Pats have nothing to lose.
People don't realize how much Kraft has affected this franchise in a positive manner. As long as he is around the Pats will always be in good shape.

There is no guaranteed $ in the deal so it could be for 10 yrs and it wouldn't really matter. They can cut them today if they want. If things actually work out they get him for another season at league minimum. This is pretty much a no risk deal for the Patriots.

I never said the Patriots weren't successful. My comments were directed towards the fact that the Patriots window of opportunity is closing, and because of that, they have made some prima-donna moves to keep the media buzzing (Moss (that one worked for the time being), Ochocinco, Haynesworth, Tebow), i dont see how that can be denied? It is pure fact?

Also, IMO, anyone who signs Tim Tebow, Albert Haynesworth and Chad Ochocinco is just attempting to create media frenzy. Both players are far below average talent wise at the point in there career's that they were signed. Just a name for ESPN to chat about.

And i just dont like Boston sports in general, that may be part of it too ;)

In your opinion has NE ever done the above? I don't think that is/was their goal with any of those signings. I think they thought that they could make a difference while not taking a huge risk on any of them. Tebow's no different.

So your telling me the Patriots organization didnt want media attention for signing Moss, Ochocinco, Haynesworth, Tebow? They just want to fly under the radar and not be talked about?

    ....right.

Low risk? Yes thats true. Free media? Yup!

To each their own, everyone has their opinions. My opinion is Belicheck and Kraft really strive to bring the best out of any player possible. Cap space is tough for all clubs. By taking on players with issues who have been rejected and left alone, they get the possibility for talent and don't have to pay the money. If it doesn't work out, they let them go just like they did with Ocho. Anyone who really spends time watching Bill knows he wants nothing to do with the media. The guys has the personality of a Mayonnaise jar. A genius yes, attention grabber no, leave that to Rex Ryan.
Patriots philosophy, take chances with low risks= high reward or little lost, depending on outcome.

I can understand, it's gotta get old being a sports fan of other area teams, seeing boston area teams do well over and over again. the owners all want to win, and aren't afraid to make it happen. (except red sox ownership....don't get me started)

.....I think its blown out of proportion...every team was doing it, bill just didn't stop when the email came out....totally out of proportion, even other coaches said it really didn't help them....

At the end of the day, he got the biggest fine in NFL history (at the time). He thought he was above the NFL rules. I dont respect that.

Bill is the General Manager of Football Operations as well as Head Coach, I'm pretty sure he's got his hand in the pot...
He did cheat, and for that he sucks, but you still have to give the man some credit, just put a couple "***" by it

The most consistently successful franchise for over a decade now, but they aren't **** because of a hot team stealing away the last game from them.

I can understand not liking the Patriots, but to not acknowledge their success is just dumb.

The 08 team goes down as the best ever if Tyree drops that miracle helmet catch, but if you listen to some of y'all they didn't have a good year lol.
