Well, I went out turkey hunting today with a buddy of mine, and patience was a key to our success. Every year I take out the landowner's son turkey hunting on their land, where they give me the privilege to bowhunt. It was windy and cold, and we seen birds off in the distance but nothing close. We stuck it out, and 5 hours later it paid off. We heard a couple gobbles, so I called on my slate call real soft, and when he seen my strutting Tom decoy it was more than he could bare. He came strutting right in to 16 yards and BOOM! This bird got a load of Heavy Shot! My friend doesn't bowhunt, so the shotgun is his weapon of choice. It was a great morning with a great friend, and I'm glad I was there to help out. Good luck everyone, and I'll be out with the bow in a couple of weeks!
Here's a pic fellas. It's not the best, but just a quick one I had snapped with my phone. Notice the BB hole in his beak. He got the full load!
