I just read the fine print....those are considered "kids and women class deer"....adult men are not included in the special

I love hunting. Been patterning this bachelor group all year. Finally found their staging area. Hopefully I can pull it off this year. Stay tuned.

Just make sure they hear you open the gate so they know to come.

Is the pattern that they come running when you shake the feed pail.

I tried to care for a second I just couldn't. It's a deer shot on a farm/ranch, been happening forever. Not my cup of tea and I wouldn't drop any money on something like that but absolutely don't care if someones else does or if they call it a trophy or get it mounted or any of that. Why do we all want to point out the high fenced, not real hunting aspect so much? It seemed obvious to me that wasn't a wild deer and I'm assuming he legally shot it at a legal farm/ranch whatever. Not much different than the "low fence" ranches in Texas where they drive the feed truck up and down the paths spreading feed every day then later hunt out of the same trucks with some form of blind built on the back. Never wondered why all those hunting videos from Texas show a bunch of deer just standing in a path? Many folks look to make hunting easier many look to make it harder this falls somewhere in that spectrum, probably on the way easier, borderline grocery shopping side of the spectrum but still within the spectrum.

My buddy, his dad, and granddad used to go someplace like this almost every season. They seemed to enjoy it, I'd never have spent the money or have any interest in that kind of "hunt" but honestly if someone said "hey you wanna go I'm buying" I'd do it in a second. Free meat, big rack, probably a good time at the lodge...and realistically it's just another deer.

If that's what the guy wants to shoot and how he wants to shoot it good for him he seems happy, maybe they could include an exciting story about the "hunt" to tell when people ask about the deer mounted over the fireplace...for a nominal fee of course. ;)

I wonder if it would solve everyone's hating or tame it if they changed the label to "arranged harvest," or "staged kill."
I can get the point that if someone is trying to compare it literally side by side with someone doing years and hours worth of scouting and hunting public or private open land that it could civilly be pointed out as completely different circumstances, or for record book sake excluded or whatever, but I think it's pretty ridiculous how many can go out of their way to attack these. I think the approach almost always taken is a great example for antis or non hunters to use as what asses hunters can be, doesn't have to be all, but sure makes some great selections to hand pick and glamorize.
I don't know why so many people freak out and take it so personally when someone does this. I went to a zoo a few months ago that had all kinds of animals and a huge buck. It was cool to be that close and feed it and whatever. I wouldn't be up for shooting it myself, but could simply appreciate it for what it was just seeing it. If someone else was going to shoot it it wouldn't kill me either. There's too many other crappy things in the world that have more of an effect on me I'd rather put effort against if anything. If the worst anyone has going on in their lives is someone else shooting a penned deer then they're they've got a truly remarkable life. I ate a steak last night from a local farmer. There's a decent chance I saw that cow as a calf and may have petted it too, as many may have at the local fair. It wouldn't make any difference to me if someone shot the cow with a gun or arrow and took pics with it, it was a tasty steak and that wouldn't change that. I don't even care if they claimed to have stalked it in the wilderness of Africa or said they shot it tied to a post, I'm fairly confident the cow was raised with plans of human inflicted death and the end result was that. It had to die somehow. If I felt arrows were inhumane or something I wouldn't continue bowhunting or even gotten into it.
I don't know why people can't just ignore or not attack something they don't care to do like that. Everyone hates on the antis for doing the exact same thing but it's ok when they do for their reasons, then they're true hunters?. People do pheasant shoots and other animals almost the same way and people don't attack that the same. If some handicapped kid or disabled veteran won a trip and did something like this people usually couldn't be happier.
Hunting has to be one of the only sports where there's so much internal bitterness over circumstances or situations that don't effect eachother to a fraction they're made out to. Or maybe I just don't understand I should hate anyone that does anything different, or has different potential, or equipment, or whatever. Guess I'll have to gain that knowledge over the years.
If he had a good time doing the hunt or whatever I should call it to not upset anyone that's awesome and I'm happy for him. It won't have a negative effect on me, and I think the rack looks interesting.
