I am considering switching to the Quad Ultra HD or 1 of the Trophy Taker (Extreme Full Cont. or Orig. Shakey)rests. Right now I am leaning towards the Quad because of the "lock down" feature.

I would love to hear some comments from those of you that have either used them in the past(why did you switch)or are currently using them now. Just your opinions on the PROS AND CONS that you feel they have. I am NOT wanting to turn this into a "my rest is better than your rest" topic.

A couple of questions to start with:
1.Have you experienced "bounce back" with the TT?
2.Can you sit on stand with the TT in the "loaded" position and if so, what happens if you must let down from full draw?
3.Will these 2 types of rests fit most all bows because I am still shooting my Browning from about 10 yrs. ago. I can probably throw my arrows just about as fast but I still like my old bow and it is pretty quiet.

I've never used the Trophy Taker, but I do use and highly recommend the QAD Ultra. I switched to the QAD from a whisker biscuit (which is still in my opinion a good rest) last year with no regrets. I like the fact that it is full containment and when you let down from full draw the "forks" are still in the up position, thus my arrow is still contained. Just my two cents worth.

If you can let down from full draw, what causes the "forks" to release during the shot...the force of the "sudden" release?

Yes, that's right. And so far, Ive yet to see the forks to fail to "drop-away" at release. I've probably put an average of 20 shots a day thru it...

1.Have you experienced "bounce back" with the TT?
No. But, I did have to move the entire TT rest upward about 1/16th" so that the TT rest arm was able to completely rotate downward on the shot to provide clearance for my blazers. This means that the arrows passes through the riser slightly higher than the berger hole center line. Although recommended by TT, I am not completely happy with this arrangement.

2.Can you sit on stand with the TT in the "loaded" position and if so, what happens if you must let down from full draw?
No, the release loads/unloads with each draw cycle. You can let down from full draw but you have to be more careful than with the QAD.

3.Will these 2 types of rests fit most all bows because I am still shooting my Browning from about 10 yrs. ago. I can probably throw my arrows just about as fast but I still like my old bow and it is pretty quiet.
I am not sure about this one but I suspect both rests will fit your bow.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all of your input. I am still leaning towards the Quad unless something else catches my eye. Only thing holding me back now is my SLOW business and that $130 price tag  :d

This one is a bit cheaper and is honestly just as good as the HD: http://www.lancasterarchery.com/product_info.php?cPath=40_117&products_id=8003

Thanks Kodiak, I'll take a closer look at this one because I can't remember what the LD stands for.

I have shot both and switched from the TT to the QAD due to the ability to have it in the cocked up position. It is nice not to have to use an arrow holder with the QAD like you have to with the TT. Also with the QAD you have much less risk of the arrow hitting or knocking against the riser. I will definitely put another QAD on my next hunting bow.

LD = Lock Down, it stops it from experiencing bounce back.
HD = Harmonic Dampener, it also has the lock down feature but you're paying a lot extra for the HD which I doubt is worth that much. (Both of mine are the HD but if I had to pay full price for it I wouldn't).
