Well after watching and reading tutorials and having some pouted out, I found some mistakes in what I did. Took my time measured twice did the math twice and came up with a gross of 134 3/4! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Stay at it dmen! The cold front is behind all the rain tomorrow. Friday is the killing day! High of 41 with frozen mix forecasted.
Not seeing much at all, one spike last night. All my stands are set up for early season, rain all day today so I will try to move atleast three stands this afternoon to better locations. This really stinks starting your hunting season 2 months into the season and right as the rut is starting. I see some cold sits coming my way trying to peg a buck. I need to leave the doe alone to hopefully draw in a buck, this will be a tough one guys. Usually by mid October I have moved my stands as I see buck movement increase, this year starting so late it is hit or miss were to place stands. My only choice is to relocate some stands to locations were I have taken bucks from in years past. This calls for a double dose of Geritol !!!! Dave
Well I'm on Doe patrol this weekend or sense I have a earn a buck sticker from last year I may just have to shoot another but hey it's 50pts either way! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get three does here. I'm gonna hold off until after the rut, then it's game on! Taking my dad out this weekend, he's never hunted anywhere but the south and has only killed one deer. ( a spike buck years ago)He's not a big hunter but he got me started. I have a few spots saved and a crossbow ready to go for him. I will also be filming our hunts together. He's getting up in age so it will be nice to spend the time in the woods with him. He has permission to shoot any deer he wants. This should be good. Good luck out there guys. Aim small, miss small!
Went out yesterday and moved two stands to spots I have taken bucks in previous years. Found some good rubs and scrapes in the area so it seems they are still visiting those spots. Moved one stand within 75 yards of a doe bedding area, hope to catch a buck going in or out looking to bump doe. Plan is to hunt this afternoon and all weekend, cooler weather is on it's way in so hopefully that will get the deer moving a little. Good luck to all and be safe. Dave
Sounds like a solid plan Dave and Dawg, go get em! I'm staying home this weekend, it's supposed to be very windy and a full moon. Next weekend I start vacation and hunt 10 days straight. Not that you guys care, you got what you needed out of me Good luck guys and shoot straight!
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, back and forth the old man went swaying in the tree. Saw one fork buck at about 230 and nothing else. Will hit it again in the am. Dave
