Awesome buddy, hard work always pays off. Even though the meat may not be any good, the feeling of accomplishment for finding that deer and putting in the time needed, will be a lesson you will remember forever. Great job buddy...................so happy for you !!!!! Today should be my last long day of work, then I should be free to do some hunting, hunting, hunting finally. Guess the old man needs to step up and put a deer or two down. v/r Dave S.
Congrats man! Great lookin buck! I can't believe the coyotes didn't find him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I leave Friday to go up north for 5 days I'll try to keep y'all up dated on the hunt! Got a cold front kickin in so it should flip the switch on the rut! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congrats to everyone who has had luck so far! I will be starting my vacation tomorrow and will try to keep this page updated as best as I can throughout the next month of hunting.
We're off to a really good start here guys. If everyone kills a doe, and we can bag a few more nice bucks, we're in this thing. I'll be doing a couple of all day sits this weekend and possibly Monday. Cold front coming and death is in the air Keep up the great work and good luck as this rut starts kickin in!
I will try to tag a doe soon if possible, got another buck tag and I know there is a few bigger deer that that buck in the area. With the rut around the corner how do you guys go about shooting does? I will get a tape on this guy soon. I am also shocked the yotes didn't get to him. They are all over the place by the back 188.
I am heading to Ohio this week, Friday more than likely. Was going to the get together, but that sort of fizzled out, so just going to try and get lucky on my own. I am a little deflated as I usually go to Kansas with a couple of buddies of mine but skipped it this year to do the get together, that is not going to happen.
Quickly and quietly I don't let it stop me if I need meat in the freezer, but that's me. I always figured with fewer does, the bucks gotta travel more looking for them. And I like to take them before they're "knocked up". Good luck in Ohio Dmen, I didn't know the get together was called off. Bummer!
Glad you found him but sucks on the meat but there is nothing any of us could of done in that case. Great job with keeping at it.
Two days of not seeing any deer I am going to hang up the bow for a day and go duck hunting. No worries all there is still a lot of time left for me to get a buck BUT I will not shoot a little buck unless he is hurt. So with that said, I hope that a nice buck walks by some time during rut. Should be here soon.
Little change of plans, not going to leave until late Sunday night. My son has his youth football championship game Sunday afternoon, and the thought of missing it was making me sick.
This stinks, finally some days off and after battling an illness since February I feel well enough to hunt, rain, 20 mph winds steady. Eventually I will make it to the woods. v/r Dave S.
It must be that time of year because I am heading to the doctor Monday with a major sinus infection that I have had all week. Still hunting and all but it is starting to rip me down. I did do a memory card flop after a hunt that I did not see anything and then my spirits about my new 5 acre cow pasture picked up a lot. One of the Deere's is one of the biggest that I have seen! All I have been getting are doe pictures and stuff! Here are the pictures:
Not sure if you all can hear what they are saying but they said "Lets go look at it" I might be taking them all down for a bit then put them all back up. They are locked to trees but still don't want to take the chance.
Well almost had 50 points on te board. Sitting by the truck getting ready to wlk in and I look across the road and here comes a doe. She walks across the road I come to full draw and right before I let one fly I car drive by and she takes off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well I am up and the wind is blowing like crazy. Maybe it will let up enough enough for an afternoon hunt. I finally get some time off from work and feel better, now the weather will not cooperate !!!! Dave
