Things are getting better here. Sat on Thursday night and had 2 does come in bout an hour apart. One was at 15 yards and the other at 12. Small young does, so they got the pass. Tonight I had a lil 6 point come out and spend about 15 minutes in front of me eating in my food plot. He kept looking back into the woods so I was hoping his grandpa was on the way out to join him, but no such luck. My son was sitting in a stand a couple hundred yards from me and saw a doe and 8 point. His first decent buck that he has seen from a stand. Now he wants to get a bow license! He talked my ear off the whole way home from the woods. I think I got 7 different reenactments on how the buck came in, licked the salt block and walked away!
Well he good work guys been in the sticks deer hunting. Decided to head north instead of duck hunt. Should be on the bored with a really nice 10 but I rushed the shot and shot 4 feet over his back. Long story short I am still kicking my self in the backside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hate to hear that man. It's easy to rush I know. I rushed mine the other day but got lucky. It's early! You will get another shot. Stay positive brother.
Well going out to night so let's hope I get some action and that the October lull hasn't kicked in yet.
You nailed it!! I have a Covert setup on the edge of my foodplot and I am thinking maybe I need to tuck it in woods a bit more. It seems to make a lot of the deer skiddish. This big ole mature doe is a frequent visitor but she looks at that camera a lot. She was 30 yards and when I watched the footage she put her chest to the ground so fast. This is the first time I have experienced a deer ducking an arrow. So you always aim that low?
I always aim low if the deer is alert and not head down feeding. My buck busted me drawing. I knew he was ready to jump string. Aim low, either way it will be a good shot even if he doesn't duck into it it will be a heart shot. Let's see that trail cam footage!
Oh Crap! Here we go again with the double shifts at work again. I will be out in the morning. Got hit with a 16 hour shift yesterday.
Hunted this evening. Saw 10-15 turkey's, 2 doe and a small 7 point. I'll be out again in the morning.
Well this morning wasn't to good. I was sitting in the edge of a cut soybean field had about a 130" 8 point come out at 25 yards on the dot and I shot over his back. Back at the house and I'm gonna shoot to make sure my sight isn't off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
