If I paper tune my bow, how far from the paper should I stand?

When I see people doing it, they stand about 3-4 feet away

To do it correctly, you should set centershot by walk back or french tune and not move rest to get a good tear. A good tear should be achieved through proper grip placement, yoke tune a properly spined arrow.

That being said, you need to shoot at multiple distances, not just one.
