You've got 1 or 2 things going on...Either it's in your grip "torquing the crap out of it", you need to yoke tune it, or you have issues with the cam spacers on the bow....Forget paper tuning, paper tuning is nothing more than a starting point...Shoot a bare shaft and a fletched shaft at say 10-15yds and see what the outcome is...I'm betting you'll end up setting the rest back to the proper center shot then yoke tuning the bow....Also what sight did you buy??? Some of them have some tricks to get more windage adjustment that the company doesn't tell you about and most people don't realize are there.

If done the way I describe in this thread with french and paper via yoke tune at multiple distances, paper is much more than a starting point.

    French

    3 feet

    Roughly 20 feet

    Paper via yoke

    Bareshaft at 25 feet
Aiming at hole well below arrows. Sight wasn't set.

Bareshaft and fletched at 20 yards.

Roughly sighted in for 30 yards. Broadhead and field point with all tuning done in the garage.

Many things work for many different people but I have done tuning many different ways and this is BY FAR the easiest, quickest and provides the best results I have found.

Montana Black Gold Ascent with 4" dovetail.

I put the rest back to center and played some more, shooting really good out to 60, both BH and field points?? IDK
Still seems like something is off though....

Enlighten us (I love learning new things). Plus, I'm looking at MBG sight's for a possibility on my backup or even my main bow.

Matt, the Ascent sight I'm assuming especially with the dovetail base and my overall rig seemed to not have sufficient room on the sight bar for left windage adjustment. When I was on, the bar was only about half way into the dovetail clamp. There are two hex bolts at the back of the sliding mechanism that allow for vertical adjustment. What I hadn't noticed was on the dovetail base side of that separated face, there was two additional hex bolts and a thin plate that allowed for windage adjustments. I moved it over one hole and that allowed my windage bar to become fully enclosed in its dovetail base again. Making me much more confident in its stability. Sight is back on zero and shooting great.

I love the sight by the way, just sweet.

Ask away, not to many questions on a Black Gold sight that I can't answer, lol.

Thanks, I was just curious what the solution was (I saw TB just posted what it was). I've heard nothing but good things about MBG and I'm considering trying the Ascent w/dovetail out. I really love the simplicity and price point of my Sword sights, but I want to try something different.

By the way, I shot all the way up to 50 yards over the weekend and my bow is shooting darts. Really good flight. Could not be happier where things are at. Great thread.

BlackGold is a great company to deal with, I know the guys over there really well and I will say this, you will not find a company with better customer service than BG...They are so good with their warranty & CS it's just crazy. Dustin & Ben @ BG are 2 of the best guys you could ever ask to work with on anything. In the past few years they have really came on strong with some great products as well, they've been around forever but in the past 5-7 years they have stepped their game up a lot and the newer product lines really show that.

Thanks for all the advice. One of my stops was hitting before the other. I got that fixed. Lowered my dloop and it is shooting bullet holes through the paper. I'm excited cause I did it by myself and didn't have to go to the shop to do it. Thanks to everyone on this site for the help.
