Just heard it on the news that they will raise their prices to pay for the insurance they will have to provide.

Think about that across the board.

When will the dems learn buisness does not pay tax. They pass it on to the customer.

Just a quick google search got this

    http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/330399

Granted,it isn't much but EVERY buisness will have to do this. It will cost all of us even more.

Wow Papa John's huh...2 questions: 1) Why are you eating Papa Johns? Yea it sucks in Cali.. 2) Are we that desperate that we are following the Papa John's business rule?

Just my thoughts....I don't represent any party.

It was just on the news,so I reported what was reported.

The problem is going to be when ALL buisness does this to keep the botttom line the same.Imagine,EVERY product you buy will go up to pay for this "tax"

    That only hurts the consumer

Great how some people can't see past the little picture to get the big picture. If Papa John's as small as it is has to jack up their prices to cover the cost of "affordable health care" of their employees, just try and grasp what it is going to mean to the individual people. If there is a price jump due to this on top of what normal inflation rate is, those who are now borderline poverty level will jump to well below the poverty level.

Sounds like you totally missed the point, or just wanted to distract from it. My guess is the latter.

Iowa Veteran nailed it. It just ends up being another tax.

As usuall,it will be the middle class left to pay for this. You know, the ones of us that already pay for our own insurance. Now we have to pay for everyone else's too.

    Interesting....

Looks like either way the middle class is getting screwed.... We either:

    1. Get to pay more for Pizza because PJ's has to provide insurance...
    2. Get to pay more in Medicaid costs because the $10 an hour pizza employees have no other options....
    3. Get to pay more in healthcare costs because the $10 pizza guys breaks his leg and doesn't have insurance....

Meanwhile as this is all being worked out/decided, the middle class will provide for those that can't provide for themselves and the uber rich will continue to exploit every conceivable tax loophole and what money they can't fully legally take tax advantages on they will continue to funnel trillions of dollars to banks and investments outside of the US...

    Papa Johns, little?! Lol

Same deal with corporate taxes. I say do away with all income taxes, tax brackets, irs employees, etc...get a flat federal sales tax on all items and it's the same percentage across the board for everyone. What could be more fair than that?

I bet papa John's got insurance on himself!

Do you actually pay for your insurance T, get it through work for free, at a discount, or maybe just on your wifes policy!
I can tell you right now there's people out there that work just as hard and as many hours as you and me that don't have insurance.
People that work for insurance companies that don't have insurance, people that work in hospitals that can't see a Doctor. This is America and its a dam shame.

I like to think my taxes go to something like feeding a hungry child or somone seeing a doctor that needs to. Sick of hearing about taxes when they're the lowest they been in any of our lifetimes.

We will see how it works out folks, hell I'll tell you right now it can't be worse than 8 years of the Bushwhacker sucking us dry giving corporations tax breaks to offshore American jobs.

The bill its going to screw me, but help a lot of my friends. nothing is prefect. I hated bush n I'm not an Obama, fan either. This country has been plummeting financially for years. I don't see 2012 being the year that changes based on a president, red or blue.

ObamaCare's Taxes, Mandates "Will Drive Up the Cost of Everything You Buy"

In National Review, Avik Roy argues that ObamaCare's "numerous tax increases … as well as its thousands of mandates" will "drive up the cost" of everything we buy – from health care to Happy Meals. And with the unemployment rate still sky high, the new law will slam small businesses that are already frozen with uncertainty and unable to hire new workers.

No wonder yet another survey shows a plurality of voters opposes the Democrats' government takeover of health care. Here's Roy in National Review:

"The $2.5 billion excise tax on pharmaceutical companies will simply get passed onto consumers: companies will charge $7-8 billion more for their products, in order to recover the income lost to the excise tax. Similar taxes on medical devices and health insurance will be passed onto consumers. And whether your local McDonald's franchise chooses to offer generous health insurance to all of its employees, or instead pays the new tax for failing to do so, the cost of your Happy Meal is going up. ...

"[T]he requirement that businesses fill out an IRS Form 1099 every time they spend more than $600 on a single vendor in a calendar year. The increased compliance burdens associated with this rule are staggering, and once again will drive up the cost of everything you buy. ...

"P.J. O'Rourke's immortal aphorism can't be too often repeated: 'If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free.'"

Read the whole thing here. The Wall Street Journal echoed these points today and argued that ObamaCare's "march to the sea is only beginning and the trail of destruction will grow":

"The last six months have seen 2011 premium increases as high as 9% due to ObamaCare; multibillion-dollar corporate writedowns by Verizon, AT&T, Caterpillar and others; disruption in the insurance markets leading to the erasure of child-only policies and other types of specialty coverage as shown in the McDonald's imbroglio; the Administration beginning to impose price controls on premiums; insurers withdrawing private options from Medicare Advantage; and Democratic protection of a 1099 tax reporting mandate that will slam small businesses."

This same fellow wrote a piece on how obamacare will increase the cost of college healthcare plans.

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/aroy/20...s-of-college-health-plans-by-as-much-as-1112/

It amazes me that liberals here and elsewhere keep trying to prop this up and actually have support for obamacare. That sort of blind partisanship is just silly. Its ok to be a loyal dem zombie but if you refuse to see the big picture and the damage obamacare is doing just so you can support “your guy” don’t expect to be taken seriously.

I'm on my wifes policy that we share the cost of BUT she has payed for it through her education. Trust me when I say it is far from "free" It was earned.

The national government has no business in health care.

Excuse me? Did Clinton not do the same, or at least set it up for it to be done that way?

Bottom line the health care is going to cost us all across the board. I will say that it will inflate over 90% of business prices and also the health care premiums that we already pay. Mine jumped $15 a month this fiscal year just for preparation.

This is why the November elections are so important. Taking back the white house and the senate is required to stop this disaster and to begin talks of real healthcare reform.

    So it's Bush's fault.

Those companies that moved overseas did so because of a little thing called NAFTA which was what Clinton hangs his hat on.

Bush expanded it (bush was guilty as well) and the idea is good BUT when the incentive is gone for business to stay home, it will go where ut is cheaper.

Insurance is another cost they won't have in China.

We need incentives in this country, not mandates. For business AND individuals. Remove the personal incentive and you have what we are getting now. People relying on big brother to take care of everything.

IMO, this is the wrong direction for this country.;)

Actually what's the difference between cost of goods going up do to healthcare cost rising and what Obamacare will cost.

Every year healthcare cost have gone up and business do not absorb that cost. They pass it on to the consumer, so what is the difference between the two would be the number to see.

The creation of a welfare state. The destruction of arguably some of the best healthcare in the world.

Big brother is already struggling with SS so why let them drag that down too.

Health insurance is not a right.

Germ: The key difference is companies will now have to cover a much larger volume of employees (e.g. traditionally non-exempt employees had lower participation or the ability to secure employer insurance) + the country 'will insure' those without insurance or not covered today. AND the companies who decide the cost of the 'tax' is less than the cost of insuring their employees.
