Anyone ever paint a faded out or chipped up decoy? I'm starting to look around at my options I'm planning on painting one day this week and looking for any experiences or best paints to use. I was considering on trying krylon plastic spray paint and trying to match up color close or even getting flat exterior paint mixed to match the color of decoy. Any suggestions or experiences? Thanks
I did paint ours last year out of desperation. It was looking real ratty. I just took a can of tan camo paint and hit it once all over. It looked better and didn't seem to do anything harmful to whatever the target is made of. I did not get the paint near the actually shooting area...just the deer body.
Ok, this isn't for a deer target but and actual deer decoy, thanks for the reply I'll prob just color match exterior flat paint and brush on.
Krylon plastic paint is good stuff if you can find a color that matches. I painted the floor panels on a scooter for my wife about 8 years ago and she rode that thing every day all summer and it held up great.
I figured someone on the forums had painted a faded or beat up decoy before. Or maybe I'm just cheap and don't want to buy a new one, I plan on leaving it sit outside up until I want to use it 3 months is sitting outside should kill the smell.
