My sister is a Dr and asked what it felt like she has had a few women patients that said it was worse than child birth. Here was my description: imagine being run through by a fence post. Yes all the way, front to back. Once the stone starts to move, imagine trying to pee barbed-wire...
Sliced off part of my pointer finger (fingerprint side) and broken ankle. Probably a broken nose or two at some point. Nothing major luckily.
How did you slice your finger? I have had more broken noses than I can remember. Lol Sent from my iPhone
Lol. I've been lucky so far. I have broken my nose twice a d had to have it broken a third for surgery. I did fall off a mini van once that was going 40 mph and got a nice concussion. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
I've had a broken wrist, doctor rebroke by hand because it wasn't healing straight, a finger cut halfway through by a chainsaw (saved it), dislocated fingers, jammed fingers, hit over the head wit ha metal pipe tightening a turnbuckle, a large locust thorn run through my hand....and had three concussions by the time I was 6 years old from running through the house playing superman and tripping. Also have had four kidney stones in the last decade and they were worse than all the other stuff combined. First one hit me while I was in a bowstand and thought I was dying also...they suck. I like the post and barb wire description. First one was so large they had to break it apart with a machine that thumps and sends a minor shock wave through you....when I woke up I pissed bloodclots shortly before pieces of kidney stone. On the way to the ER, pain was so bad I was throwing up and couldn't breath...scared the heck out of me.
Ugh that injury still gives me the creeps. I was watching that game. I almost puked. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk
Brown Recluse spider bit me twice on the top of the thumb a few years ago. It was 5 days before I went to the doc as everyone thought it was just an infected hair. Needless to say the doc told me one more day my arm would have been gone. That is the worst pain ive ever felt in my life. I couldnt even more my arm without shooting pain going through the left side of my body. The doc dug out from the top of my thumb to my wrist of all dead liqufied tissue. Alot of stitches an a few weeks later I was good to go. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
Broke three ribs off my spine and one near my heart in a motorcycle crash handle bar impacted my chest and punctured my lung with the rib so your lung is leaking air like a tire tube on a bike.As air fills your chest it crushes your heart and lungs with every breath so release the pressure they a hole between my ribs near the impact site and shove there fingers into it and then put a tube in to let the air out, four people held me to a table while I screamed for them to let me die. No shots or pain meds,no nothing until they got that done.spent a week in intensive care over that one.
From everything I've heard, kidney stones are about the worst. (and I work for hospital EDs) For me, it's my migraines. The pain itself isn't particularly acute... it's just that it keeps going and going and going. I can't handle light, or sound, or smells. There's barfing... And a non-stop pain. Feels like there's a ice pick going from the back of my skull and out my eyeball. Usually last two or three days and it builds; goes from annoying, to 'I can't function'. I'd gladly stab myself through the hand/leg/arm/foot, pull my fingernails out.. you name it... if the migraine would just go away.
......OK, Been knocked Cold "lights out" 3 times Have a pin in my wrist Steel plate in forearm Broke both collar bones Big toe has been broke at the joint, still wrong Tore all ligaments in one foot at the ankle Had 11 fractures in 5 ribs Punctured lung .. twice That would be the majors and the ribs ... big ouch. Cuts, scribes and busted nose with black fingers and eyes from fist fighting among other adventures. Pain is a teacher.
Tube thoracostomy is another biggie on the pain scale. Broken ribs/sternum... very painful. I'd avoid them if at all possible.
Those little things are no joke. I don't wish one of those on anyone. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk
I've had a boat load of injuries during my life. Ankles, knees, bones, tendons, sprains, concussions, burns, cuts, bruises, groins, hamstrings, etc..... Hell I've even been legally dead at one point of my life. These....... suck!!!! As well as cluster headaches Only other thing I can think of is when I was younger. I had bones growing weird in my foot and were rubbing together causing irritation and pain. Reluctant to have foot surgery and trying to get more information, I lived with it for awhile.... would come and go. Got so bad one time where it infected my entire leg. Woke up in the middle of the night and would have loved someone to cut my leg off honestly.
Kidney stones, worst pain I've ever felt. I made her run every red light on the way to the e.r.. luckily it was 3am.
