Been a long hard summer for me. I know it has on others as well. It's really just hitting me that I'll be in a tree in a matter of days. The weather looks better than usual and I'm looking forward to those first few noises in the morning. Good luck boys. Aim true and hang em high.
I'll be perched 16' up a tree with my 12 y/o son. He took a nice 9 ptr. last season under the mentor program and finally has his Jr. lis. this year. Should be interesting, his first time hunting from a hang on! LOL!!
I'm looking forward to the regular season opener. I have already been out twice during the 2 week Special Regs Antlerless season here in the SE, but it'll be nice to know it's the real deal come Sat. I hunt state land, so I might just wait until mid week when I'll have the land virtually to myself. Really though, I'll be in my glory when the pre-rut starts kicking in around mid to late Oct. Then it's really "game on"!
Yep, I'm ready to go. I still have a bunch of crap to wrap up around the house, but I'll fit it in when I can. It will be nice to not feel so obligate to come home from work and pick back up with big projects for a little while.
