That doesn't seam to high compared to other states. In Minnesota if you want to hunt the bow, gun and muzzleloader season it is $90 for a resident plus another $44 to bear hunt. Another $22 for small game and you still pay more if you want to turkey hunt.

i get more usage out of that than the opportunely of hunting!

and sorry but i sold my sikta gear.

the guys how post on this post who LIVE in than other state really have no say!

they will lower the number of hunters
i'm not going to pay $40.00 or more for only 8 days (Saturday) i can hunt. now do you see what i'm saying
and no one really answered my question.
are those prices i listed in the 1st post the ending price or are they still going to keep going up over the next 5 yrs?

If people from other states should not post on this thread then maybe you should post it in the region section!

It's real simple, if you think the license fees are too high, don't hunt. It's all a matter of how important it is to you. My hunting is VERY important to me, because I spend many days in the woods each season doing what I love to do. So, I'm OK with a license fee hike. It's that important.

I was born in PA and have bought a number of licenses there so I think I should be able to give an opinion, you can go ahead and dislike this post too. Looks like you used spell check for the first time on your last post

From the write up, the increase in fees was backed by hunters and associations. It's also been a 17 year delay in fee increase which is along time. That money will go to funding your wardens and biologists I'm guessing. Also it's not law yet from what I read. And they're also giving an combo license for a discount of almost $40, if you would get all the licenses normally, that's a good deal.

don't take this the wrong way.
but when they rises the fees for fishing license we all seen the improvements that same year.

in 2001 they added the 4 point rules for bigger bucks now 15 years later there is still only about 1-2% of trophy buck beaning harvested and that is the same % befor the 4 point rule. pa will never be a big buck state so they need to stop trying!

to a lot of us pa hunters they are look for a way to trim the hunter pop. their is soooooo much bagage that come with the pagc thats making people sick. you have to live here to understand this crap.

Different WMUs are different though, the allocation is different and in ours we couldn't even get any because the residents bought them all up before they were made available to non-resident hunters. Since our area is mostly out of state hunters, the buck to doe ratio was completely messed up. So as a state, maybe the does got hammered but that means nothing when looking individual micro habitats. I'm sure there's many pockets of places where it's mostly non-resident hunters who rent, lease, or own property and ran into the same issue. I no longer hunt PA but it wasn't because of the price. Most states have prices that go up and down based on game officers and DNR plans, etc. I will agree that the individual tags for each individual weapon thing is a bit outdated but not uncommon.
