I've never hunted spring turkey, but it seems that this year that my Camp may have an interest in doing so.

So some simple questions.. (My rule-book is still at the camp ;))

Is my license from last years deer season still good through Spring Turkey?

If I hunt with Bow (for spring turkey) do I need an archery tag?

Are you still only allowed to hunt til Noon?

What's flourescent orange requirement when sitting?

Simple I know....the PGC site was giving me fits when I tried to find these answers.
    Thanks in advance.

Last years license will allow you to hunt until noon. I'd dont believe you need an archery stamp but i'm sure someone will know for sure. Orange requirements were removed for spring gobbler.

If you have a 2009-10 License (Valid July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010) then you have a spring turkey tag on it already (Gobbler Only).

Yes you would need a non-resident archery tag.

You can hunt (i.e. calling only, no stalking) till 12 Noon, must be out of the woods by 1PM

FO is no longer required for Spring Gobbler. Although it is suggested that you wrap a FO band around a tree within 15ft of your calling position or treestand.

    Season opens Saturday May 1st

Thanks Guys.. So I could shotgun hunt for free (considering I have the 2009-2010 license) but it would be another 24$ to get an archery license to bow hunt? (no archery tag from last year)

    Gra8atta2d,

I stand corrected. Fatsbucknut was right. You would not need a non res archery stamp for spring gobbler. Sorry.

I was going to correct you but I'm glad you caught that.

Bob, let me know if you have an interest in coming farther east and if I have an opening I'd be more than willing and happy to show you some tactics. Matt / PA took what I've taught him and successfully has applied it to a couple gorgeous NY birds! My "camp" is always open for you.

Or, if I'm available I'll come and walk along as a caller/videoagrapher just for the love of it.

    Thanks, guys.

Rob, generous offer there bud. I'm sure I could be drawn to like the Turkey Experience if I had some of your expert help. Right now, it's just darn intimidating, being so green. I'll definetly keep your offer in mind! Thanks
