No luck with the elk. Hunted all week. Far more elk live in town than in the mountains. Was a great week. Saw a lot of deer and some real nice bucks.
You got the raw deal on that one. Very lucky to draw but unlucky in the area that you did draw. Did you come across any fresh sign?
Ryan, that sucks that you didn't get to tag a cow, but it is a good reminder to many that not every elk hunt in PA is like "shooting fish in a barrell". That still had to be an amazing experience to hunt your local state for an animal that you would have never dreamt of hunting when you were younger!
I actually saw 2 bulls while hunting, they were on some private land that i hiked into the back of. They & more importantly the cows would not leave and give me a chance. What little fresh sign at the beginning of the week went cold fast.
