Interesting. Personally I'm glad my state doesn't allow it,

my province allows baiting, however most hunters don't know the difference between "baiting" and "feeding" deer.

If the ND Fish and Game Department had their way... baiting would be outlawed in ND. Right now... most if not all public land... baiting is illegal. They have been pushing for it on Private land but have been defeated so far.

The bowhunters are lucky that more and more rifle hunters are getting into baiting and are changing they way the hunt. The guiding operations are also a big push for it. Farmers and the Fish and Game don't get along so you have another major group going against anything the Fish and Game does.

They have an up hill battle but are very persistant. Time will tell.

Baiting is illegal in California. You can't plant food plots either. You are allowed to hunt farm fields but thats all we can do.

Old news. Look at the date in the by-line. I believe baiting had a greater effect than what was reported. I believe there were a lot of doe killed and never reported because of baiting. The fact the GC is abandoning it is more a result of their inept reporting methods than an indication of baiting's effectiveness.

That said, I don't believe baiting was resulting in mature bucks being taken, but does were definitely dropping on bait piles which is what was needed in the area of the state I hunt. I think the decision was premature and wrong but it won't affect the way I hunt.

LOL...who cares if it's "old news"? I'll guarantee you few people knew people in PA were baiting. Nobody's ever mentioned it, as far as I can remember.

I believe baiting was only allowed in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia areas where the deer population is very high. This wasn't state wide

Didn't think it was state-wide. Also didn't know it was legal ANYWHERE in PA. Hence my post.

I believe it was only in Special Regs areas on PRIVATE LAND ONLY.

It was a fairly small area in the SE special regs zone. The special regs area that i hunt no baiting was allowed. And like stated above only on private land.

This is correct. Which is probably why so few knew about it. It was hardly worth talking about. The fact that it's been disallowed is even less notable.

OK. Should we all run any future post ideas by you for board relevance?

If you have a problem with the article, send a letter to the editor.

    Otherwise....it comes off as sniveling.

    Seriously? Get over yourself dude.
You made the point that you didn't know PA was allowing baiting and that is was being repealed. I made the point that it was in a small area for a select group (private land) and that's why it was unknown. No problem with the article at all. I do have a problem with you taking offense to any comment that you don't completely agree with.

    Talk about sniveling. SHEESH!

This quote from you is what drew my comment. So, I'll ask again....should we all run our thread ideas by you, for relevance potential?
