So as a fan of BHOD i hear them talk about halloween week season after season. Have any of my fellow PA hunters experienced the same thing. Is the last week of october the begging of prime time or do you think we have a different schedule here in PA

I can't speak for PA but it's always a prime time here as well, I've killed more deer/bucks than I can recall on Halloween week/day/eave.

I'm from Northeastern PA (Bradford County)and it applies to my area. I enjoy hunting anytime during the season, but late Oct. - mid Nov. is normally when the deer are more likely to move during the day time, so it's a better time try all day sits. During the early part of Oct. you're more likely to see deer just after dusk and before dawn moving from their bedding areas to their feeding areas & vise-versa.

Yep, I agree with NateJR_PABOWHUNTING (by the way...I am next county over in Wyoming County). End of October - first couple weeks of November seems like the best time to see deer/bucks move.

See this past season I was covered in deer up to about Oct. 20th and beyond. The deer seemed to disappear on me after that.

The last week of Oct and the first week of Nov is what I'd call "prime time". Yes, be in a tree on Halloween!

Absolutely. Almost every year without fail. Some of my best hunts have occurred on Halloween through November 2.

Hunting on Halloween is like a bow hunter's tradition. It symbolizes the bow hunting superstition/tradition because Halloween always seems to kick off buck movement and the start of the rut. I will definitely be in a stand on Halloween. It's on a Saturday this year too!

The past 3-4 years I've never had a bad experience on or close to Halloween, always seem to have a LOT of action. My buddy's dad swears by it and shot a 140 inch 11 point a few years ago on Halloween night

Has anyone seen early chasing going on? I was in a cut corn field last night and 2 does came out and about 5 mins later a buck come trotting out of the brush nose to ground and grunting every step. I grunted at him trying to get him to walk away on his own will but he came in for a fight. I didn't think things would get real hot real quick. Is anyone else seeing early rut activity?

I've seen younger buck start chasing this past week as well.
