Thank you for the tips I will be sure to print those and keep records. I see the Dr. at 8:30 in the morning. I doubt I will be cleared right away as I can still feel the swelling but I hope it isn't to long. I will pick up some more dumbells as well.

Your last sentence is my main goal. I have always been high energy and could go and go. After these surgeries and such I feel lethargic and I hate this feeling.

P90x is amazing. However, if you don't pace yourself it can truly mess you up...my knee has never been the same since doing it. I lost 13 pounds in just 2 and a half weeks but was not pacing my self during workouts and pushing through pain...be careful. I would recommend total gym/elliptical type work for a week or two if accessible just to get muscles going before full tilting it.

Also consider going to bodybuilding.com You can choose tailored programs to exactly what you want to do whether it is transform, burn fat, build muscle or get lean...from there rec'd plans vary in length and they also include recommended supplements if you desire to do that. I personally exercise to stay leaner not necessarily bulk up but come post hunting season I am planning a 2-4 month stretch where I will be trying to bulk some and will be taking either a natural soy or hemp protein (I like to stay super clean when possible) and some krill oil....haven't decided if creatine will be included. I have become a huge fan of bodybuilding.com though once I realized it isn't just for big bodybuilders.

I'm assuming that you had a general surgeon work on your stomach. I could be wrong. My wife is a general surgeon, she normally will make her patients really ease into a work out regime until she feels they are 100% Our trainers here at work normally have the guys that already have a very low BMI do russian kettle bells. You can work them fast, or slow either way it is one of the best functional work out programs you can do.

If you want a chuckle they make us larger types dig holes with a shovel and a pick axe under the clock, for part of our work out. Again it's all about being functional.

Diet is the number one thing that will absolutely crap on your work out. Remember trash in trash out. Best of luck.

Thanks, I will look into that site. I have never visited it before. I like you once did would have thought it was for the serious body builders.

Disclaimer: I didn't read all the posts. Check out a book called convict conditioning. It is a progressive calisthenic routine that eases you into it but becomes more intense. Its a focus on really being in control of your body
