Are you thinking about it? I am ,,,,, now that I am on a m-f 7-3 work schedule, I'm going to order it ..... So, are you thinking about doing it? Have you done it? thoughts ....
Tony, dont order just yet... Im getting ready to send you a pm, I can save you some $$$$$ and yes I have done it, it does work
I'm planning to order and start the first week in January. I managed to drop 17lbs before season started with just running/lifting/eating clean, and have tried to keep it off through the season despite my lack of time to focus on this. I've put 5lbs back on, but plan to aggressively get after it again using P90X once the holidays are over.
I am 15 lbs down from a few months ago .. thats with just all the hunting and less calories I have been eating ... P90x may be a little aggressive for me right now ... I think they have a test online to see .. I still have quite a bit of weight to shed, tho ... I miss the lean, mean, fightin machine days :D
Hmmm and how is that LW stand:D I have lifted and trained people in lifting for many years, I will NEVER lift another weight again like I did before. I am sold on P90X
Gary .. will you be my internet trainer :D Quite the tesimony for P90X Gary! ... as far as the stand .. I told you I had the seat too high ...besides, once I buttered my hips, I slipped right in
Despite the overwhelming endorsements from several of you guys on here and other peopel I know, I really have no interest in trying it. I don't have the desire to undertake such a regimented program at this point in time. I'll do fine staying in shape with my current (well current once hunting season really winds down in 2 weeks) workouts of running, yoga (including core/abs), push-ups & pull-ups.
At 44, im very flexable :D No worry's, pm was not what ya was thinking :D and your right Ewwww now get yer mind out of the gutter man :D
Here ya go, Tony... http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?t=4709&highlight=P90X I'm starting another round November 30 if you get hooked up with Crick in time (I'm assuming I've got an idea of what his PM was about... ) Ask away any questions you've got, man... you've got lots of help and support right here. My first round, I got as about as intense and "into it" as I ever did bowhunting, so I can offer you lots of tips and pointers along the way.
Greg ... I re-read most of that thread ... the food control is as important as the excersize ....moreso I bet?
I started it and injured my shoulder a few weeks in... I'm planning on starting over after the first of the year.
Tony, it's CRITICAL!! Went back and pulled this out of my original thread for you just to reiterate: Nutrition is a big part of any fitness regimen or lifestyle, and this is no different. A membership to Sam's Club is worth its weight in gold to access the bulk bags of whey protein and the boxes of protein bars I go through, not to mention the bags of boneless, skinless chicken filets and center-cut salmon filets I consume in addition to all my grilled venison. Biggest tip I can offer early on: Open a myfitnesspal.com account to start tracking your daily nutritional intake. The site will track your "split" for you, breaking everything down into protein, carbs, fat, sugar, sodium, etc. After that, work on changing how you view food. I COMPLETELY changed the way I view food. Food is feul for the next 2 1/2 hours. Period. Yep, that's how often I eat now -- without fail. I do NOT miss a meal. Ever. I don't miss workouts, and I don't miss meals. I even take protein bars to church, and wolf one down between Sunday School and our main service. My body's almost got an internal clock running based around food intake; I can tell you now within a few minutes when it's been about two hours and fifteen minutes since I last ate. That tells me I'm feuling my body properly. Equipment needs are few: a pullup bar (you can buy an Iron Gym pullup bar at Walmart for around $35 or so) and a variety of dumbells -- or you can use resistance bands if you want. That's pretty much it. Oh. One other thing a few of the guys up above alluded to... a whole lot of "don't quit" and the desire to dig down and bring it harder when you feel like puking.
Good eating advice Greg and it is important to view food as fuel, like you said. Think of your metabolism as a fire. Throw small amounts of coal on it every 2-3 hours and it will burn hot. At a large amount without adding anymore for 6 hours and it will go cold. Your "diet" will make up 70%-80% of your success. My wife teaches P90X at a local gym. The key to success with this, like any good exercise program that helps you lose weight or build lean muscle, is that it burns calories when you are doing nothing. The exercise and eating plan increase your metabolism so you are burning calories the other 23 hours you aren't exercising.
the physical part sounds like fun its the food part I am worried about ... the thought of eating so often .... when I start, I will be buggin you and Rob for sure ,,,:D
