Does P&Y score differently then B&C does? Like do they use the same measurements and math to add it up? My buddy shot a beautiful 8 point last night and I helped him score it using B&Cs website because i don't know all the details of doing it and the website there does it for you. Going by the website and of course this is before the drying period his buck is around 130, putting him over P&Y min. Just would like to know that they use the same system so we don't call out an official measure just to find out they do it differently and it adds up way different. We are both pretty new to the scoring of deer so figured I would ask the guys and gals on here if they know how it goes. I know we have plenty of people with book bucks under their belt that might be able to answere that. Thanks alot in advance friends.
I think they are the same system, but I'm not sure. One thing I have heard is that you can't register with P&Y if your bow sight has a battery-powered illumination system, just FYI.
P&Y just adopted B&C scoring methods when they started as a club so they are scored identically. P&Y only takes archery kills with certain restrictions (such as no electronics on bow or arrow) where as B&C takes ANY animal from dead heads to rifle kills. If your buck grosses around 130 and is pretty symmetrical it would be worth having it officially scored if making the buck is important to you! Should be close!
Ok awesome thanks guys. Yeah he's a beautiful buck and we are pretty excited to see where he ends up.
