Oxy Elim-A-Scent Pro by Buck Country Products Zap Odors Gone - All natural, effective deodorization Get one of these. They make 3 sizes. They have a pocket size (35sqft -I use in tree stand/blind), Pro (50 sqft- I use in blind with a sealed ($20) 12v battery) and a 120v (270 sqft - I put above my hunting clothes) for a room/closet/RV/shack. It is an Ozone producer. Man does it work. I gave it a good try. I have been using them for 6 years now. I ALWAYS take mine hunting. I took the following from a thread I posted on in 2013. I have been using the Buck Country Products (you have one in the pic) for 2 seasons with great success. I have the smaller (micro) to take to my any stand. The Pro (one you have pictured) in 2 stands with a 12V locator type battery there and the Magnum (big one) in the room I keep my clothes. They work great. I cut my use of spray stuff by 2/3. I have an old clothes stand/rack with it hung on the wall above it. I used to always spray my clothes etc. every time I came home. Now I just hang them. You can put your clothes in a tote and put the little one on top and remove all the odors. To try it, take a new pair of leather gloves or your old sticky boots put them in a box with one over night. Or put a plastic garlic or steak seasoning jar (which seem to smell forever) under one for overnight and when you smell it you will laugh out loud. I own a Resort in northern WI and last fall had some bird hunters stay a few days. When they left their cottage smelled like wet dog. I put the Magnum on the fridge, came back in 2 days and NO smell. I recommend the Buck Country ones. My local shop stocks them and the are not that expensive. Way less than Ozonics and more conveneint And a WI company (but made in china). And if you have a teenage boy, put one in his room...the entire household will thank you. Just a note. I just spoke to Buck Country and they told me that the same products are sold under Whitetail'R brand and soon the Buck Country brand will be not offered. Same product with different name. Buck Country parent company will focus mainly on the pet industry. As far as scent control is a gimmick. I take great pains in scent control. To the point now that no one gets to hunt with me since they do not. I asked my buddies how many bucks they saw last year or the last 5 years combined. They will be lucky to see 1 or 2 and maybe get a shot. I passed 17 different bucks last fall. 2 in the 130-140 class. I had 42 opportunites to shoot a buck at 25 yards or less. It works for me. By the way they call me "Dumass", I never did shoot one and am buying beef. Hunt the wind? Sound good until the wind changes, then you move and the wind changes again.
Hunting the wind in the silver creek bottoms that I hunt is impossible. When you puff that scent powder in the air it looks like it's in a tornado. The wind doesn't just swirl it cyclones
Wind switches blowing the generated ozone directly back into your face. I personally just don't like the hum of the fan and the taste and odor it produces.
IMO If you have enough people on tv and otherwise saying something works, then gen pop will follow behind. Everyone wants the latest greatest guaranteed to put the trophy in my lap gimmick. Im not saying it doesn't help or it even makes a difference. To land the plane, Im saying early hunters figured out what works and what doesn't by adapting, no technology no gadgets. Yes I use modern weaponry and yes I ask for advice and help. But when Im in the field I figure it out. I have sat against a mesquite tree with a leaf suit, no odor blocking sprays, no fancy camo and no ozone maker. I had multiple deer walk by me at 5 feet away and never even looked my direction. Basically it can be done without all the gadgets, it takes effort and few shortcuts but it can be done.
No offense taken. I mean if your hunting on top of a ridge or something your wind probably wont switch that much. But hunting in a bottom, your wind is going to swirl or it will be tough to get a constant wind direction. And isn't the ozonics meant to be used so you can hunt any wind really? So eventually it will end up being blown in your face. Some guys swear by it but its just not for me.
I'm not sold on this thing. first, I didn't realize pure ozone from our atmosphere had an odor. if our atmosphere has no odor than how can it be produced artificially and now it has an odor. hmmmm. if I can smell it the deer can smell it is my saying. now a fan noise is added. what the (*&(? maybe I should just take a loud speaker in the woods telling the deer it's safe around me and don't worry about the noise in the tree. it must be super loud to them seeing that they can hear a lot better then any human. heck they can hear the noises my trail cameras make when the trigger goes off. hence the deer with the dumb look picture staring right at the camera. and like everyone else said more crap to carry. I have shot several deer down wind with no scent control of any kind. I think it just depends on the mood of the deer.
Ozonic's work, and we've proven this on video probably 100 times in the last 5 or 6 years between our team members. I can respect a guy saying he isn't into it. We all like different things. For the guys who say they can't work; you have to see it first-hand because that's what it took for me to finally realize it worked to the degree it does. Revolutionary! For those who claim they have a system that works as well without using an Ozonic's in a tree; show me the video proof. I'm unaware of any documented "wind floater footage" from a non-ozonic's set-up. That pretty much says it all IMO.
I have a small ozone generator that I use on my hunting clothes that I have a lot of confidence in. I personally can't see carrying a unit out to the tree with me, I already carry too much stuff out there despite every attempt to cull what I bring. Yes, the wind swirls at times when we are hunting...hey, things happen. Nothing is ever guaranteed when you go hunting. I would rather wait for a steady wind than to push an iffy set, just the way I think though. For those who want to carry the units out with them, more power to you! I believe that they work and if you are willing to haul it out there, I'm sure it will help you on those days when the wind isn't completely in your favor.
lets hear how many guys have got busted using it. if one person got busted that makes me skeptical. there are thousands of videos of hunters shooting deer on video without one. do you guys leave the woods when the batteries go dead? lol
No offense but I would bring an ozone machine in a tree long before a camera, and just because you choose to video it does not give you more credibility, don't use video hunting and documenting in the same sentence it makes you and others look pompous.
Plus being sponsored does not equal credibility matter of fact based on the crap we see hunters say about products of companies that sponsor them it actually lowers credibility. Don't blame the non believers blame your fellow sponsored hunters for schilling crap for years.
You know, I can't figure out how I've managed to kill 45 deer over the years without using Ozonics. I just can't figure it. lol
I will note that 45 deer is a good number in PA. we only get 1 maybe 2 tags if you are lucky for the year. still waiting for anyone to admit they got busted by a deer while using this device. most of the guys promoting this device in the ozonics videos I assume are on outfitters property where deer are numerous. now I challenge this device to prove itself on a bear hunt (not over bait) and archery hunting from the ground while the bear is dead down wind and see what the results will be. bears smell better then deer. definitely busted!!!
I know you said "archery" hunting but do you mind if I take a firearm of some sort if I'm going to try your challenge out?
We have actually showed ourselves getting busted, with and without Ozonic's. It's not a magic machine, it is simply a machine that produces Ozone gas. Just another tool in the tool box, but it's a CRAZY effective tool. I film for the deer guys, not for myself. Don't mean to rub anyone wrong, a camera in a tree is just another challenge for me. Especially self-filming. I just get sick of a bunch of gimmick scent elimination products giving a company like Ozonic's a bad name. We get it, you've been lied to for 20 years by a bunch of pro's and show's who will promote anything if paid to do so. WKP is not that company, if you want to see for yourself, watch our show. Hunting Webshow, Hunting DVDs, Bowhunting, Deer Hunting, Turkey Hunting, Shed Hunting and more | White Knuckle Productions It's all about the deer for us! If you disagree, that's ok. I'm just an engineer.
