Any true bowhunter shouldn't need to use one. I can see the handi capped people using one. but if you are healthy and able, you shouldnt need Ozone to help you kill a deer.

This is true. I do believe that some like to be the best of the best and will try to use anything possible to make themselves above the rest. With deep pockets some will try to buy themselves the better of the best coin if we can call it that. And for the record I would actually try one if I had the opportunity even though I love to bow hunt all season long.

Everyone should be able to make a decision on where that line in the sand is. Bowhunting is a game of rules of defense and offense. We are on the offense obviously and the deer is on the defense. Their best weapon is their nose without a doubt. Since it’s legal one has the option to severely handicap their defense or make the game more challenging and allow the deer that weapon in their arsenal. I choose the middle ground meaning I treat my clothes with ozone and try not to stink like a filthy slob but I enjoy the challenge of still having to consider the wind, entry/exit routes etc. Something about walking out to a tree and essentially turning a deers nose off with the flip of a button doesn’t appeal to me. Just a personal preference with no judgement towards any law abiding hunters. Some would say that I still cheat by treating clothing with ozone. Just a line in the sand.

Sometimes I wonder what the real old school hunters/bow hunters would think of deer hunting these days. I mean the guys back in the day consistnetly killing deer and good bucks with jeans and flannel shirts, they likely didn't take three showers a day and do fifteen loads of laundry during bow season either.

I mean I do get it I guess, and whatever somone does that makes them feel like they have an extra edge or more confident is completely up to them.

However, we do always hear about "fair chase" (as if it's ever really fair) but then we as whole try to negate any and all perceived advantage a deer may have. I find the whole deal pretty fascinating.

I mean ozone generators, scent sprays, scent free storage bags, pre hunt showers, scent free clothing, hunter chewing gum...etc. Seems so tedious, I just try not to eat mexican the evening before a hunt ;)

Exactly! You're describing the Benoits to a tee. They were trackers, you don't see that any more either. Like I mentioned previously, big mature bucks were being killed long before Ozonics hit the scene. Let's keep it HUNTING.

Everything evolves we all use technology in our lives. Heck you hard core guys should stop using polypropylene unfair technology to help you stay warm and comfortable in the woods. We all make choices in what to use it does not make you superior or others lesser.

Well I didn't meant to come off hard core because I'm definitely not, in reality I'more of a keeping things as simple as possible type. I'm only saying that I don't believe much of the new stuff is "needed" to kill whitetails and the evidence of that is the simple fact that we have been effectively killing them for as long as we've walked the earth together.

I feel like the only thing that has really changed a lot is the hunting industry and the marketing. jmo.

Oh no doubt it is all about marketing, I wonder how many would buy an ozone machine if they were only $50?

So.. I have avoided Ozonics bc the price and have had some hunters tell me that they do not work well for tree stands in Oklahoma due to wind. Like if the wind is over 5mph they do not work well. Once again, just what I have heard. However, after reading through this and a few other threads I am thinking about buying the Scentcrusher bag today. Thoughts? I do have $400 burning a hole in my pocket and am just wondering if buying a portable unit is worth it?

Then I could buy 10 instead of 1. Just leave em in the trees. There goes the “no lugging extra weight excuse”
