I bought two Loggy Bayou Predator Stands on sale before this season and have been happy with them for the most part.

But, on a recent frosty morning I noticed just how slippery the platform can be on these stands...almost to the point of me not feeling safe using them in cold, wet conditions.

Maybe some grip tape would be the answer?

Anyone else notice this about Loggy Bayou Predator or Muddy Pro Hunter stands?

i am not too familiar with the new loggy bayous. but i know with the older styles, there was no climbing any tree during wet conditions. using rubber instead of cleats to minimize tree marking was not a good idea on their part, nor was it very safe.

I have a predator stand and I have noticed it is a bit slick in the am with frost amd precipitation, but the stand itself is great, I can sit all day in this stand and not be sore at all

I have the Muddy stand and have not had any issues with slipping, but I think if you are having an issue, you should wrap the platform pieces in traction tape and that should give you all the traction you need.

I have one of those that was my main climber for years. I know I had to be selective with the trees I climbed in wet conditions, but it never kept me from climbing or hunting a spot I wanted to. Those climbers had many issues though.

I use mine striclty as a hang on stand now.

Cooter, I personally haven't noticed the slickness... but I haven't really sat in those conditions as of yet. I definitely see how the design of the platform could be slippery, but I imagine some grip tape cut into thin strips would work wonders. I may give that a try this afternoon. :D

I have never noticed my Muddy stand being slippery, but I don't think I have actually sat in that stand during any frosty/wet conditions yet.

I have an older Loggy that actually came with grit tape, works well. Have replaced it several times, forget where I purchased the tape, but believe it's Safety Walk Tape?

Another idea in the off season, because of smell, would be to paint the surface with a paint sand mixture?
