so I have a about 1.5-2 acres of standing cow peas that are doing great but with fall coming I would like to get some winter wheat in for this winter. My question is am I better off tilling my peas under and re planting with wheat or is it better to try and overseed my peas with wheat and hope it comes in once the peas are dead and gone?
You can scratch up the soil more efficiently with the peas out but it would not hurt to try to leave the peas on half the plot.
Pics of existing plot would be helpful, I personally would most likely lightly broadcast winter rye into the plot
Sine you have a solid looking plot from the pictures, I would overseed. If you had a marginal plot then I would suggest tilling and planting. Goodluck!
