I have an existing clover plot that started life 3 years ago as a mix, believe it included some radishes, turnips and oats among a few other things. Clover at this point is obviously the only thing still coming back, and Im considering frost seeding some fresh stuff. I liked the success that the oats had the first year, so I was considering going back to oats and possible adding some chicory? and some clover to keep it thriving...
Question is, what exactly should I over seed with if I choose to add some other crops, or should I just maintain the quality of the clover?
If it matters, this plot is located in Northern Vermont, currently under about 3' of snow, if climate plays a part in your thoughts

    thanks guys!

not for sure but i think oats will need to be buried, not just spread.

Frost seeding is best done with tiny seeds that don't need any significant depth. Add some chicory or some varieties of clover.

When frost seeding clover it needs to be able to reach the soil. So if your plot has a lot of dead plant life in it and you cant see the soil it would be a waste of time. If however you can see the soil. Frost seeding clover is the bomb. Oats wont work frost seeding. Winter rye and winter wheat will though.

Clover and alfalfa for frost seeding works well.
