last year my bow was tuned great...it has been shooting great until the last few times I have shot.. before last season I paper tuned it to the T and it shot all points the same from 1-35 yds. I was wondering what could have caused it to become "untuned" ...?? I have not knocked it around or anything that I know of...could it be string stretch?? the bow is an 08 Ally I bought last spring. I can say that all the field points fly the same, and my arrows seems to fly with perfection, but with the Rage practice head this morning it seemed to hit in a different spot. any suggestions? Im going to shoot through paper today and see what I have shoot bullet holes then what?

Im no expert but I believe that just like a guitar or anything w/ strings and moving parts eventually it will be out of tune. To be honest I fully expect everything to become untuned at some point in time. I enjoy tuning up the bow and all, so I generally do a little check about every 3 weeks or so do a walk back and recheck everything w/ a level. I think a bow is just like any other piece of equipment and time more than anything can have it become out of tune.

But heck I could be completely wrong with all of this as well, its just my 2 cents.

Here is what I do and it is probably not necessary but I like to do this stuff. Take everything off (except peep) and start with a bare bow. Mount the rest and then get a level nock point, shaft even with the holes the rest screws into. Tie in the nock point on the bottom of the nock. Then setup centershot by adjusting the rest. Tie on a new Dloop. Check the peep sight and make sure things line up. Start tuning with paper and continue on through walk back, bareshaft, group, BH.

When it is down to bare bow I will also check the cam timing at rest and full draw, check the max draw weight, ATA and BH. I don't know if you want to go through all of that so I mentioned it at the end.

You can move the nock point or the rest up or down. I will move the rest myself. It's easier than retying the nock point and the DLoop, for me anyway.
