Hey guys, Im thinking about starting the process to get an out of state tag to bow hunt an elk. What are some things I need to know, what state should I try for, I was thinking about Colorado or New Mexico, and Im thinking about the 2020 or 2021 season. Thanks for your input and advice!

My advice if your wanted to hunt New Mexico is to start putting in next year. The tags are hard to come by for out of staters. Heck they're even hard to get for residents. I've put in for 14 years and have only drawn a tag twice!

If it applies, don't wait to start getting prepared (you, gear, whatever).

Learn/plagurize what you can from others as a quick start. I'll offer my sorry...maybe a tidbit in the first couple 'chapters' you can use.

I'm not sure what my plan is actually. I may just head to Will's camp. Dave is going the first week of the season and that is my oldest kids birthday week. May try going solo in Idaho but will probably just go enjoy the camp fun.
