    Second hand info :

    power outages (some rolling) sound pretty common

    Many accidents during the snow / ice

    Refineries along with several other businesses, shut

    My sister is in San Antonio had pics of snow, more ice in the forecast.

    Supposedly, their wind turbines are frozen.

    Guess they forgot to change the gear lube to winter wt.

    It’s because Texas handles their own grid and they did not spend the money to winterize them. Being there is no state regulation to do so.

    Generator on the tow truck run off a pro? With my commute and the cold this week I would not make it on just one charge.

    Would be interesting to see the data on how efficiencies and run range are effected by colder temperatures, time spent in stop and go traffic. The cars require an electric heater and that draws power as well.

    I asked some texas friends do you have a snow shovel? A what? You can buy at least 10 different kinds of snow shovels in Minnesota. My self I go plastic with a fiberglass handle, can not have the aluminum on the edge the sound and feel of aluminum on cement is nail on a chalkboard to me.
