Man a scatched cornea hurts---I got a thumb in my right eye one time and within 45 minutes, both of you eyes shut down. I was basically blind until they gave me some eye drops with pain medication.

Yeah, I did that only one time - sucked. For me, the worst part was it felt like I had an eyelash in my eye for like 2 weeks.

My bro-in-law does it at least every other year, if not every year. Its amazing how many times. I bought him some "hunting" safety goggles as a b-day gift one time, LOL

Actually have a friend who got stuck in the eye by a honey locust and was partially blind for 20 years of his life. He went to the eye dr. a couple years ago and the dr. said he could fix that. Now he has his vision back. It isn't 20/20 but pretty close.

I personally have never poked myself in the eye while climbing a tree stand, but if this happens often, I'd suggest safety glasses or some type of goggle.... even regular eye glasses.... I would rather look dorky wearing safety glasses knowing I wouldnt poke my eye out rather that have a chance of ruining the hunt!

GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THAT EYE HEALS UP!!

I have actually scratched my cornea about 5 times in my life, just scratched it not poked it...lucky for me i have some antibiotics for it from last time, hell i hunted last thru the pain and could see well enought to shoot if i just kept the eye closed until i was ready to shoot. Eye is better now, medicine is awesome!
