Know while back there was a thread talking bout few you guys ordering fish or seafood online but has anyone ever ordered meat? I'm talking like elk or bison type stuff. I got a new pellet grill other day and have been lookin at stuff to do on it and was just thinking of trying different stuff.

The trick with those meats, they are all farm raised and can be pricey. If you can find a farmer and buy a whole /half or quarter there may be a deal worth looking into.

Having said that, my wife likes the convenience of butcherbox, though they were only carrying ground bison. IMHO their steaks are cut too thin. Other than that, quick shipping, good service (had 1 shipment v that thawed and they replaced the whole order). Me, I will be chasing elk in a couple months...

Yea I'd much rather be getting my own elk but wasn't feasible this year.

Wife is selling beef sides like crazy. My daughter is looking at sending 2 cows to get ground if they do not take and they are sold as soon as they decide. Ground whole ground beef going for over $5 a pound.

Waiting on half a cow to pick up in Mid August. When a two pound roast at the grocery store starts costing $11/pound, I am looking for meat somewhere else. Bought it from a local farmer.

You would have to be a bull to get a better piece of beef.

I like bison, raised them at one point in time but have been seeing ads for it on the Instagram and now that I've written that I'll see a lot more I'm sure. However, being in Oklahoma has few advantages other than being able to find bison at a good price if you know where to buy it. I get mine from Market 54 in Weatherford Oklahoma. I pay a whole lot less than what I see it being sold for online. I split a beef with my brother in law every year but I send out Omaha packages to customers and sub contractors every year around Christmas and they all seem happy to get a box of steaks from them.

Haha I've been getting them on about every site last few days since looked at few places. I figure if do I'll haveta pay little bit but I've been looking for off chance there's somebody thst raises them. I'm not 100% sure if that'll work here tho, state has some weird laws on game meat sale last I knew. Guess that may not apply for "farm" raised tho.
