Time to replace the string/cable on my '05 Bowtech Patriot so I went ahead and called Don(my BT dealer) and he will put them on. I even was able to choose the colors which surprised me. Original set was excellent and I assume these will be as well........452X material. Does everyone replace their set with custom made like Gibblet's(my original choice)or am I the only oddball?

I used Gibblet on my Marquis and on my Victory before that.

Nope, I do the same thing you do Greg. Most people don't know what that you can order BowTech strings in any color combo you want... if BCY makes it, they've got it. Everything's made with halo serving and all... doesn't get much better than that.

Greg ..for those of us who pay..is Bowtech competitive pricing wise? I've used Gibblet and service and delivery was 1st rate. Not saying Bowtech would be any different. Jsut seems they have bigger fish to fry then worrying about my custom colored strings.

Bob, I think they are... but I'd honestly have to check.

Your concern is valid on the second half of your statement, but the company takes EXTREME pride in its string-making quality and operation... Most people consider them THE best factory string out there, and many are willing to put them heads-up against all the customer stringmakers as well.

Buy what makes you happy, of course. Just saying I wouldn't hesitate to purchase BT's strings from a quality perspective.

I didn't take it that way, Bob... just got a text back from HQ saying they should retail in the neighborhood of $100. Hope that helps.

Wow! I didn't think to ask my dealer what the cost would be. About a month or so ago he told me around $65 for a set for the Patriot, I hope that holds true or I am not going to tell my wife.:busted:

The BT strings are high quality but I think I'll stick with guy I get them from now. Same high quality but only $70 .

VT and Gibblet strings are competitively priced. BT strings are GREAT quality, but comparing prices to the two aformentioned, they do fall on the higher side of the scale.

Greg, that was just a "general, catch-all" answer... if you were quoted that from your dealer, I'd think they'd still be close to that just a month or so later. I'm sure different models and cam systems differ in price a tad.

I really like Gibblet, and he makes some great strings. I've had a good 15ish sets or so now on various bows over the years. With that said, the last two bows I've had (both Bowtech), including my target specific and hunting bows, have both got the factory strings on them still. I've seen nothing that would make me want to get rid of them, and think they are of great quality. When it comes time to swap strings (will switch both this summer) I'm honestly not sure which I'll go with. If I can get factory strings quicker, I'll probably go that way.

Just returned from the bow shop. Don(shop owner)put my new Bowtech string/cable on the '05 Patriot. I am very impressed!!! Yellow/dark green as I had ordered and we got everything in sync. 452 material, everything including specs was as I had ordered. Total cost including installation was $78 and some change. One year warranty...thats hard to beat. I'll post pics later.
