I am looking to buy my first bow- in 30 years. I need 31" draw @50#.. tough to find used and budget not there for new. I tend to like the way Bowtech feels in hand, but open. I have two I am thinking about(found)- Which would be the best option??? Bowtech Sniper - one year old Bowtech 101st Airborn 2+ years old. Pricing- about the same.. Is one: quieter? Easier pull? Better around?
My opinion is you need to shoot the bows you're interested in. Even if you have to shoot "new" versions of the bows, you should shoot them. There are a lot of new bows that are friendly to a tight budget.
I agree. Issue is local bow shops have- Mission, Mathews, and Bowtech. The cheapest setup in Bowtech is the Sniper @$600 complete. Not sure what Mission has and I think Mathews is just too $$
Hey there, I also have a 31" draw and you're right, there aren't many bows out there to chose from that will go that long. I bought a Mathews Switchback LD in 2006 and shot it up until this past spring and I liked it alot. In march I bought a bowtech destroyer 340 and haven't looked back since. It took a while to get used to, as the draw cycle isn't quite as smooth as the mathews, but once I got used to it I fell in love with it. It is plenty fast and I'm able to shoot it much better than I've ever shot before. I know it is a little out of your price range, but you may be able to find a good used one for that price. Hope this helps!
Options- CB/ My son just ordered the Destroyer 340. He shot the Mathews Z7, Z7 Extreme, Monster and the Elite. He said the 340 just felt right. Sadly, $800 just for the bow would make me a bachelor. I am looking at the Tomkat, 101st Airborne, and the new Sniper kit. I think the 101st is 2 year old top of the line- 321 fps. I just have to find one that someone is dumping- with 31"/50#. Hard being so large.
