I never had anything of value growing up but I sold a boat about 3 years ago that I am wanting to find and buy back. Sold it for a down payment on a house that the ex has now. Wish I still had the boat. There is a motorcycle that holds a very similar value I wish I wouldn't have sold either. Loved them both and sold them. I won't be doing that again. If you want to sell them make sure it's not something you will look back on in a few years and wish you had back. Personally if I were in your situation, I'd sell only what I had to to get what I wanted. Keep the rest for another thing you may end up wanting later.
I lived in Bethany Woods first and later moved into a house in Dunloggin. My kid went to Hebron. Hell, we were practically neighbors. LOL
I grew up collecting coins and comic books. Unfortunately and understandably my wife and I have not received a payraise in five years. Lets just say I have sold thousands of dollars of the stuff I collected as a kid to help keep my family afloat over the past few years. Selling my coins was not a lot of fun because of the sentimental value and I don't have much of a coin collection left. I sold some of my comics over the years, but for some reason could not sell all my "good ones" (all the Marvel Comics like Wolverine, X-Men, Spiderman)...I hope due to all the new Marvel Comic movies out there that the prices of my comics increases. If I were you I would sell some of my stuff SMC, but hold onto the stuff that provides you with meaning.
All great responses guys. Thanks for taking a few minutes and reading through the post and comments. Ultimately I will be selling some of the valuable cards and keeping the less valuable "emotional" cards to pass down. In 20 years the cards from when I grew up will hopefully be valuable to whoever gets them and the cycle will repeat itself. Just hope I get a good offer on the older ones.
I'm going to get my Jackson Coosa Elite tomorrow in Lewes, Delaware! Made the decision to sell the cards and my old kayak and I got close enough to where I wanted to be. Figured the Lowland Camo was a good choice. Will post pictures when I can.
Sell the cards. The memories are in collecting them growing up, not in having them stowed away somewhere in the house collecting dust as an adult. I would love to sell my card collection although it isn't worth much. I will be keeping my knife collection and coin collection to pass on to my kids, if I ever choose to have them.
