I am going to be buying a new or used if I can find a deal, trail camera. I am going to be putting it on a floating platform in the water. I am looking to get above average quality photos. I will be needing one that will work well in low light, now sure if they all have a flash or how that works. I will probably be leaving it out for a few days at a time.

what brands and models do you recommend?
how much should I expect to pay for a good one?

Prolly a couple hundred for a decent one up to $500 for the best ones. Or anyplace inbetween. Check these out in the shopping section

You may want to test fire a few shots on the water platform if using a flash model. The water might cause a glare or washout in the pics. Infrared models might work better on the water if you don't mind B&W nighttime pics.
