A buddy got this picture from a game camera in the U.P. of Michigan, anyone have an opinion on what it is? My best guess is a stray dog but it's a long way from civilization. Seems to have the head of a dog, body not like a coyote or wolf to me, but could be wrong. The tail definately throws me if it's a coyote or wolf, somewhat cat like.
I would think coyote, but the tail doesn't seem like a coyotes, even for summer fur. I also haven't seen many coyotes with that even of a coat in color, but it could be.
To me the body looks like a mountain lion. That tail goes right with it. The head kinda looks like a dog tho. Coyotes in Iowa dont look like that.
It's either a dog or coyote. Notice the pointed ears, not rounded like a big cat. And I think body is too small for a wolf. Blessings.......Pastorjim
Doesnt look like any coyote here in New York. Id say a mixed breed dog of some sort. Second guess would be an odd-ball lion. The dingo idea sounds right too but the location is a tad off i think.
Body like a cat and head like some sort of canine... This is gonna bug me. Or we could just go with chupacabra.
