    I'm going to start taking a** shots. If I hit that femoral artery the deer isn't going very far and will be an easy blood trail.

    Come on guys... You're forgetting a major player in this shot placement game.

    THE NECK!

    Bigger area than the head... And a chance to break it's neck/windpipe on contact. If you wound it, it can still eat and it's guts aren't spilling out.

    It's a win win situation!

    Dont do it. Too much can go wrong and the animal will only suffer. Punch both lungs and they will expire just as fast.
