In Oklahoma they have more power than the highway patrol. That being said out of all the times I've been checked they have always been good guys. Most of the time they will sit an BS with you for while. I've never had a problem with any of them.

Here in Missouri we have an agent for every county plus the regional supervisor is out working also but they still can't be everywhere :)

I have the greatest respect for all of them , even the ones I haven't met . Seems everywhere I go I end up bumping in to one and they have always been respectful and courteous even when one of them finally caught me with an unsigned tag :) In my area they have always been very informative and willing to help when it comes to regs. .

The MDC is always willing to donate use of equipment and the agents donate their time to several youth/disabled hunting events in Missouri . They also host several events with agent donated time geared towards getting more youth involved in the outdoors . Great bunch of guys if you ask me .

Mostly great guys! Just don't break the law. They're quite merciless.

I have never dealt with a game warden. I suppose most people who don't like them probably got a ticket at some point, kind of like when someone b***hes after getting a speeding ticket...don't they have more important things to worry about.

We used to have one around here that was a pain but for most part they're not too bad. We really don't see many until deer season opens then they're everywhere, think last year there was close to 30 running around two counties. Some of the ones that come in are a pain but most the time they don't mess with ya unless your being really stupid. It helps that one of my buddies from hs is a game warden.

In all actuality I've only had one experience with one. We have a state park close and me and buddy wemt fishimg I'm the lake. We were standing on the dock and one walked out to check our fishing license, which we had, I noticed he had his hand on his sidearm as he was asking us to open our tackleboxes and show him our license. I kinda laughed and smarted off about us kinda being trapped on dock and for him to calm down. Needless to say he didn't find the humor and walked us to our vehicle and checked it all out. Other than stuff like that I don't have much of a opinion about them, they're jus doin a job like everybody else.

I`ve met a few, 2 of which were top notch stand-up guys. One, also wanted to go predator hunting(haven't got back to him yet). There are some however, that seem to just wanna hassle people. I`m all for them catching the guys that are breaking the fish and game laws, but don't hassle the guys that are doing things the proper way.

I contact our local agent this spring about giving a safety speech to the group of youngsters he hosted at our youth turkey hunt this past spring . Not only did he show up on his own time , he spent a fun filled hour with the kids after he was done .

I live in SC and the only game wardens I've run across were on the lake and they were way to big of control freaks and they were extremely stuck up I only know one personally(church) and he has offered me an internship before.

Good and bad for me. The local one that used to be around where I live was great. The newer guy I don't know anything about. Once a warden checked me 3 days in a row while fishing on the same lake one summer. Each time he wanted to know if I had a fishing license. The 3rd time he checked me I had brought my mom with. I looked at the warden and said what the hell, this is the 3rd day in a row you've checked me. I did he says? This same warden gave a friend of mine a ticket because he said he was fishing with 2 lines. What happened was this friend of mine casted out his 4 year old daughters line and handed the pole back to her. Here In Minnesota you can only fish with one line in the summer. During the winter its 2 lines. Anyhow this dink ticketed the dad fishing with 2 lines.

Up where I bear hunt the warden up there is awesome! We talk allot and get along great. The warden before him was an absolute prick! One time he waited at camp for us (we camp out in the woods on the end of an old logging road) after we all returned from an evening bear hunt. One of the guys didn't case their bow that was in back of the truck so he wrote him up. He then proceeded to ask us if we had a bald eagle or something of the sort in the truck because I would sure love to have that truck. The truck was a brand new F 250 Diesel at the time. It was my cousins truck and my cousin looked at him and said what kind of ****ing question is that? This warden was a real smart *** and thought his **** didn't stink. He searched both vehicles from head to toe. He treated us like we were poachers. I told him straight out I absolutely hate poachers and *** holes who have no ethics. He laughed and said I don't care, I just want your buddies truck. I told him he was a dink right to his face. The next year he moved to a different area.

A couple years ago I interned for the South Dakota GFP and in a couple weeks span I worked with nearly every CO in eastern South Dakota. It was during the flood of 2011 where anyone with river experience was working shifts along the Missouri River, so that is how I met so many of them.

Most were great guys. We would stay up playing poker and I got to sit back and listen to the table of CO's tell stories. It was pretty awesome. There were a couple guys who went out of their way for trouble, and they were blatant about it.

One of them who worked about 30 miles from where I lived was telling a story "So I was sneaking up on this high school beer drinking party the other night..." The story, like many of his others, ended with him handing out MICs to kids camping or partying or at the beach. I immediately wasn't a fan of him, since I was 19 years old at the time. I really felt bad for his high school son, who had to worry about which one of classmates potentially got a MIC from his dad.

Some are good, some aren't. Some are personable, some aren't.

Some are very passionate about the job, to some its just a job, & some are there because they didn't get to be some other type of LEO.
Imagine dealing with the public daily who are all generally idiots. You'd get cranky now and again too.

My grandpa likes to tell stories of when he was younger the game wardens would roll up on a group of hunters and kick back talk some smack and have a cold one with the rest of the guys. Some times asking them to put him on a good stand for the remainder of the eve. Grabbing his bow out the back of his truck and going hunting. Ahhh the good ole days.

My game warden here in Trumbull County seems to run into me all the time. Every time the warden says "spread em'" and pats me down... And I always say, "that's not a gun officer".

I don't get it... The warden never gives me a ticket either.

    Here is the local warden.
